How to sign your Arizona title when selling your vehicle

Important: ALL Arizona titles need to be notarized!The registered owner of the vehicle should complete the following easy steps:
  1. Print (don’t sign) your name on the back of the title where it reads “Seller name (printed”).
  2. Sign your name on the back of the title where indicated by “Seller Signature”. This needs to be done in front of a legal notary. Legal notary’s can be found at any bank, DMV, or legal office

How to get a duplicate vehicle title

If the vehicle was last titled in a state other than Arizona, you must apply for a duplicate title in the previous state that the vehicle was last titled in.
The registered owner of the vehicle should complete the following steps:

  1. Fill out the Arizona Title and Registration Form.
  2. You can choose to do one of the following options: Bring your duplicate title application to your local Arizona DMV office, or, Mail your application to the Arizona division of motor vehicles at:
