How to sign your Nevada title when selling your vehicle

The registered owner of the vehicle must complete the following easy steps:
  1. Always sign the front of the title where indicated by “Signature of Seller(s)” (see image).
  2. Second, print (don’t sign) your name on the front of the title where it reads “Printed Name of Seller(s)”.

How to get a duplicate title for my vehicle

If the vehicle was last titled in a state other than Nevada, you must apply for a duplicate title in the previous state in which the vehicle was last titled. Find your state at the bottom of our homepage for instructions.
The registered owner of the vehicle should complete the following steps:

  1. Fill out the Application for Duplicate Nevada Certificate of Title.
  2. Have the application notarized.
  3. Bring your duplicate title application to your local Nevada DMV office.

Please note that there may be a six week waiting period before a duplicate title can be issued and the cost is $20.00. (Paid to the NV division of motor vehicles).
