How to sign your Oklahoma title when selling your vehicle

IMPORTANT: Oklahoma titles may need to be notarized

The registered owner of the vehicle should do the following:
  1. Always sign the front of the title where indicated by “Signature of Seller(s)” in front of a legal notary.
  2. Next, print (don’t sign) your name on the back of the title where it reads “Printed Name of Seller(s)”.
  3. Have the title notarized if required. Notary’s can be found at banks, DMV’s and legal offices.

How to get a duplicate title for my vehicle

If the vehicle was last titled in a state other than Oklahoma, you must apply for a duplicate title in the previous state in which the vehicle was last titled.
The registered owner of the vehicle must complete the following items:

  1. Fill out the Oklahoma Application for Replacement Certificate of Title for Vehicle/Boat/Motor.
  2. You can choose to do one of the following options: Bring your duplicate title application to your local Oklahoma tax commission office, or, Mail your application to the OK tax commission at:

Please note that there may be a six to eight week waiting period before a duplicate title can be issued and the cost is $11.00 plus an additional $1.50 mailing fee made payable to the Oklahoma Tax Commission
